Thanks for taking new members! I'm very excited to read this book again. Any of the dates work for me.
The book is "The Stranger" by Camus. Used copies are selling on Amazon for less than $1.
I have analyzed our pattern: we have been meeting the 4th Tuesday of the month. This would mean Nov 28th. Can we stick to "fourth Tuesday" - exceptions could be made for holidays, national championships, project runway finales, etc. That is, events that are common to all or many of us.

I'm either traveling for business the week of November 13th or my clients are coming up here (still TBD). My team will most likely be having late nights with meetings and dinners. The first week in December works best for me.
New member yes!
I would prefer Nov. 13th or 14th...since I will most likely be away on vacation Dec 4th or 5th. But, in the spirit of new book club, and not everyone having to be at every meeting, either works for me. Lets see what is best for the most people.

I can do either- November 14/15 or December 4/5. If everyone is cool with it, I'll invite Leigh for this one as well.

Ladies, Thank you so much for a great night. I really enjoyed dinner and our conversation! I say, let's get hoppin' on our next book choice so we have the full month to finish it - i'm a slow reader so I need all the time I can get.
Also, I wanted to share something histerical with you...go to this site: http://www.thislife.org/ (its a npr program) and search for episode 203 in the search bar on the lower left side of the page. Then listen to act one. I think I may have mentioned this at dinner, but I can't remember. Anyway...you should get a good laugh out of it. If you don't....listen to it again with a glass of wine in your hand...it really is funny! g'byye!!

Sorry for the no-show. Ended up getting hung up at work last night. It's the 4th quarter or chaos quarter for us here, and we have clients in town this week.

I haven't finished it yet either, but I'm still going to go. Is anyone driving who will be leaving from downtown? Its kind of a haul to Alewife and I'll either be leaving from work (Silver Line) or Home (Green Line). If I can't catch a ride, I'll do my best to get there on time...so save me a seat if I'm late. Thanks!
I am a bit torn about tonight. I haven't finished the book, but I am really in to it. However, I'm afraid the story would be ruined for me if I went tonight. I know, sounds odd and silly. So I guess I'm questionable for this evening.
Lets do the Summer Shack (in Alewife), 7:30pm. Easy to park, easy for public transportation and should be able to accomodate a larger group with out a problem. Definitely fills the theme of Summer Vacation! Should we make a reservation- my count is 8 people...only missing Kathy.
Petit Robert is great, but probably not for book club. I am sure we can justify the Elephant Walk for another book.

Summer shack near Alewife is fine with me, but I really enjoy elephant walk and was intrigued by Petit bistro in Kenmore. I hadn't gotten to the Possible move to France part when I made my suggestion.
Hi this is Wendy-
Thanks for the link Erin!
I am finished with the book and happy to meet anywhere tomorrow night, just let me know.
cell 617-780-6297.
Here is my recommendation for the next list.
Scott Turow "Ordinary Heroes"
See you tomorrow~

Hey All, just got back into town late last night...I don't have anything else going on tomorrow night, so whatever time works for all of you will be fine. Still trying to finish too!!!
I'm scrambling to get the book done by tomorrow. Got through a good chunk yesterday, but have an office dinner meeting tonight. Not sure how successful I'll be at finishing it. I'll do my best though.
Summer Shack near Alewife sounds good to me too. Less of a hassle for parking as well compared to the one in the city.

I'd be up for the summer shack that Kelly suggested????? I am up for anytime on Tuesday night and later is fine with me.....
I am just finishing up the book now...

I can make Tuesday Oct. 24, 7:30 or later def. works for me. As for where to go, agree w/ Kelly on the Island Hopper, great idea and love the restaurant (really good for discussing books), but we have been there before.
Whose turn for the next list?
Some other potential options, along the same theme of Norah as a travel agent and then the potential move to France....
1. The Elephant Walk-we can have the french flair + cambodian to lend the exotic vacation flair. Never been, have heard it is good, would it be conducive to talking? Two convenient locations: Boston-900 Beacon St. and probably even easier Cambridge 2067 Mass. Ave.

2. Another option would be a favorite of mine the French bistro Petit Robert Bistro in Kenmore Square. Dinners are a bit pricier ($15-$20), but the last time I was there the food was excellent. It is pretty small so we would definitely have to make a reservation.

Kath, are you gone all of next week? That would be sad...
Cat, the beach theme is a good one, but I think we've already had bookclub at Island Hopper twice before. What about Summer Shack? Even the downtown iteration? Also easier to drive to (the one in Alewife, at least). But, I could do Island Hopper as well... do like the location :)

Let's stick to our plans of Tuesday 7:30 for the meeting.
Since Norah becomes a travel agent and there is a pivotal scene on a beach during a vacation, should we do Island Hopper on Mass Ave? Its good food, not to busy, such that we can easily get a big table, and its pretty quiet, so we can hear each other.
Anyone have any other ideas?

I can do the 23rd at 7:30 but I have to seriously pick up the pace of my reading! Where do you all usually meet?
