Boston Bookclub

Because we like to write a lot of emails, because we have trouble reaching a consensus, because we're busy people, and, most importantly, because we all have fascinating insights into literature... we are making this space the space where we do all things 'book club.'

The 5th works for me too...i've made little headway so definately need the extra time.

Based on the feedback, the 5th seems to be the preference. Will put out some location suggestions next week and pick a place.

Thanks,
Erin

Hi am headed to Texas for two weeks... but I'll have a Margarita in honor of bookclub! - Wendy
I can do the 5th as well and the extra time would be good for me!
The 5th works for me....
I vote for the 5th as well- work is going to be insane for the next 6 days as we wrap it up. I've started the book, but barely.
I prefer the 5th, at earliest. I'm making progress, but it's rather slow reading for me (no comment on my enjoyment of it, just the speed of my reading = )
Wow, time is flying. Two suggestions on the date of the next book club. My original thought was Tuesday Apr. 28th (next week). If that is too soon for peopel, my second thought is Tuesday May 5th. Blog majority rule will decide.

Thoughts on where to go? Next up for the list is Kathy?

So I have a lot of restaurants I really like in Boston, but these are the ones I keep coming back to:
Tasca’s-Fabulous Spanish tapas. Often live guitar music and on occasion flamenco dancers. Lots of fun with a big group. http://www.tascarestaurant.com/
Sabur-Love the the food and the drinks, always a great meal! http://www.saburrestaurant.com/
Myers + Chang-Fun asian diner. The tea-smoked spareribs are great. http://www.myersandchang.com/
Daedalus-The rooftop deck is perfect in the summer. The greenhouse roof on the second floor lets you feel like you are outdoors in the winter. And the food is really good. http://www.daedalusharvardsquare.com/
Sorento’s (RIP is closed…it was a hidden gem in the Fenway. So sad)
Ditto to Cat’s list that Petit Robert (Kenmore and another location in Newton), Helmand, Dali, and Casa de Pedro are all great! Must try Jasmine Bistro and Hammersley’s.
The book this round is Persuasion by Jane Austen. I am going to suggest Tuesday April 28th for the next meeting. Suggestions on where to meet?
