Boston Bookclub

Because we like to write a lot of emails, because we have trouble reaching a consensus, because we're busy people, and, most importantly, because we all have fascinating insights into literature... we are making this space the space where we do all things 'book club.'

I'm in!
Tuesday June 1 also works for me :)
Mags can do the first (she's having trouble with the blog and asked me to post for her).
I can do 6/1 at 7:00. And I've been wanting to try Beehive!

Love the idea of the Beehive. First, I was thinking African, but agree the topic may not lend itself to a comfortable discussion. Next thought was Brit pub, but feel we have done that several times. The Beehive is great on both fronts...good for discussion and something different.

I am going to suggest Tuesday June 1 (do have to double check my calendar), but am pretty sure the date is free. Looking out after that date I am travelling again for work and then hopefully a vacation...so I may not be around until the end of June.

Let me know if this date works and I can make a reservation (7pm??)
I agree with Cat- I'm not sure I'd feel comfortable discussing those scenes in an African restaurant. I like the Beehive idea- it fits the theme and I've been wanting to go there for ages! June 2nd works for me- that's a Wednesday. Did you mean June 1st? (I can do either, just clarifying since we usually meet on Tuesdays)

I've almost finished the book so I could do it sooner rather than later I guess. If we are sticking to Tuesday's June 2nd would be okay, but the next Tuesday the 8th would not work. But then anytime after that would be okay.

I was thinking that an african restaurant would fit the theme, but honestly, since the scenes set in Africa are so disturbing, I would actually feel uncomfortable at an African restaurant. So maybe "Bee"hive would be more comfortable?
HI Everyone, do we want to start talking about when to meet to discuss Little Bee?
